Conversation Starters

1.      Is Jesus' God, Your God?
John 20:17 Jesus *said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’”
Matt. 12:50 “For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is my brother and sister and mother.”
Mar 3:35 “For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.
Heb 2:11  For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren.

2.      Was the son of God (Jesus) the creator?                                                                             
       Isa. 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,
“I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth [fn]all alone,
Act 4:24  And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THE THAT IS IN THEM,

3. The living know that they will die, but do the dead know anything?                                       Ecc 9:5  For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.                                                                             Eccl 9:10  Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.                                                      Psa 146:4  His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.                Psa 88:10   Will You perform wonders for the dead? Will the departed spirits rise and praise You? Selah.                                                                                                                                                              Psa 6:5  For there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol who will give You thanks?
4. Did Abraham receive the promise of God?                                                                           Heb 11:13  All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.                                                                                                                                   Heb 11:39 And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised,                                                                                                                                                                     Act 7:4  “Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. From there, after his father died, God had him move to this country in which you are now living. 
Act 7:5  “But He gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot of ground, and yet, even when he had no child, He promised that HE WOULD GIVE IT TO HIM AS A POSSESSION, AND TO HIS DESCENDANTS AFTER HIM.
5. Are souls immortal?                                                                                                                      Ezek 18:4 “Behold, all souls [nephesh] are Mine; the [life} soul of the father as well as the soul [nephesh] of the son is Mine. The soul [nephesh] who sins will die.                                                                                                         
 Ezek 18:20 “The person [nephesh-soul KJV] who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.

6. Did Enoch receive the promise of God?                                                                                                    
Heb. 11:5,13, 39   V5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.                                                                                                                                                                    Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:        Gen. 5:23 Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.   

7. Did Jesus have a God?  John 20:17      Jesus *said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’”

8. Is Christ equal to the father?   
John 14:28  “You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.  John 13:16  “Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.  1Co 11:3  But I want you to understand that [fn] Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.                                    
1Co 15:28  When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.   
9. Why do you believe in the Trinity, when Jesus didn’t?                                                                                     
Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; Deut. 6:4 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
10. Is King David in heaven?  Acts 2:34 “For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: ‘THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,

11. Who else is God besides the Father?                                                                                                                   
Isa 44:6 NASB] 6 "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me.                                                                                      
Isa 37:20 NASB] 20 "Now, O LORD our God, deliver us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, LORD, are God."                                                                                                          
Isa 45:6 NASB] 6 that men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other,

12. Once Saved…Always Saved?                                                                                                                           
Mat 13:21 NASB] 21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away.

13. Why was Jesus sent?

14. What did Jesus talk about after his resurrection?

15. Must a person love the “truth to be saved”?

Can God be tempted?                                                                                                                                       James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.                                                                                  
18. Was Jesus tempted?                                                                                                                                          
Heb. 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.                                                                               
Heb. 2:18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.                                                                                                                                             

19. Will the meek inherit heaven?                                                                                                 Matt. 5:5 Blessed are the [meek] gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.                                                              
 Psa 37:9  For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.             
 Psa 37:11 But the humble will inherit the land And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.        
 Psa 37:22 For those blessed by Him will inherit the land, but those cursed by Him will be cut off.           
Psa 37:29 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. 
20. Was the gospel preached before Jesus death?                                                                                               
Mat 4:23 Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.
Mat 9:35 Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
